We are organisations and individuals with strategic interests in participatory arts, including community arts, socially engaged arts, voluntary arts, and arts in education and learning. We come together as ArtWorks Alliance, a self-supporting Community of Practice.

We Work With

  • Anyone influencing or influenced by participatory arts

Coming together as a self-organising community enables us to do more than we can each achieve on our own. We share experiences, ideas, opportunities and understanding of our work in social and community settings.

We’ve been supported by…

ArtWorks Alliance was initiated with funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. All core costs are  collectively self-supported through member contributions on a ‘pay as you can’ basis.

We received emergency funding from Arts Council England during 2020 to support members during the pandemic.

ArtWorks: Developing practice in participatory settings was originally developed by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Our Knowledge Bank

ArtWorks Alliance has created a library of research materials, reports and other resources. These all feature in our Knowledge Bank which is fully searchable and being added to all the time – and its free to everyone to use.
